Fellowship Ministries
Growth Groups
There are Growth Groups led by trained leaders meeting in several locations and at various times sponsored by the Reformed Church of Bushkill and dedicated to providing authentic relationships with others as they deepen their relationship with God. The coordinator of Growth Groups is dedicated to providing a group experience to anyone who wishes to have one. God has created us with a need for community and that community is best achieved by belonging to a group of ten or fewer people in which all members develop a close, trusting relationship that allows folks to truly care for one another. You owe it to yourself and, more importantly, to God to be in such a group.
Congregational Care (Visitation)
The Reformed Church of Bushkill are a truly caring bunch of people. This statement has become a trademark of our congregation for some time now. We are blessed to be able to say that we have many people in our congregation who minister to the sick, depressed, lonely, and people who simply need a friend. We are blessed, also, to have a Congregational Care Ministry that has a few designated people who provide care on behalf of our church.
These special people will make visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and houses of those who are in need or want of prayer or care. Some have had classes that have taught them to minister to and counsel those in need. Some will send a card or make a phone call. Others are blessed with gifts such as the ability to cook or bake and will provide meals to those who are in need.
The people who provide care in this ministry are called to take care of people, and they do their best to make sure that when they hear of someone in need, they respond with care and kindness. Our Congregational Care ministers do their very best to make sure that our congregation feels cared for.
Coming Together Ministry
Coming Together Ministry’s basic purpose is to bring our church family and friends closer together just for the fun of it, and to give everyone a chance to get to know each other better. We meet once a month to plan future events.
Women's Fellowship
Family Promise
Family Promise is a county-wide program that assists in helping needy families that are homeless. Our church has taken on the obligation of participating in this program. We are responsible for supplying food, basic daily supplies, shelter and functional living quarters for the families enrolled in the program. It requires assistance and coordination from many volunteers to make the program successful and operational. At the end of our "Host" week, we are left with a feeling of success, gratitude and honor to be able to assist other families in their time of need.
Our program is always looking for volunteers and donations. If you are interested, please contact us at your convenience.
Sunday Fellowship Committee
The Sunday Fellowship Committee is responsible for the Fellowship Hour after service. It only takes approximately one hour before and one hour after service to successfully make the Fellowship Hour happen. Each week we have a sign-up sheet that is at the beginning of the food tables. It allows everyone to sign up for a food donation that would be brought in Sunday before service that would be shared with everyone after service is completed. The food donation can be homemade baked goods and snacks as well as store-bought products. We are ALWAYS looking for help before and after service to assist in the set-up and tear-down of Fellowship Hour.
This has become a tradition in our church. It is a time after service that we are able to come together as a congregation and "mingle". It enables everyone to meet new members and visitors of our church. It can build friendships and life-long lasting relationships between yourself and others.
If you are interested please contact us at your convenience to assist.
Small Group, Jr. and Sr. BLASTS and Open Mic at the Barn
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus is telling the eleven disciples to go out and make believers of everybody. In addition to doing that, make sure to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit AND to make sure everybody is taught to obey EVERYTHING that they, themselves, have learned from Him. It is the mission of our youth group leaders to do just that with our kids. Our youth leaders recognize the command to make disciples of Jesus Christ was just that - a command. It is a great honor for them to have the opportunity to do this as a ministry specifically geared towards our pre-teen and teenage kids.
We are blessed to say that we offer the following ministries on Sunday afternoons, which we have begun to refer to as “Youth Fellowship Day”:
Small Group - Adolescents looking to enrich their walk with God are encouraged to join youth leader Zach Craver as he leads a small group of kids in fellowship and discussion about their walk with God, and whatever else the Holy Spirit leads them to talk about. This takes place at 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm, which is immediately after our first service that begins at 10:30 am.
Open Mic Jam - Kids of all ages are welcome to join Moe at the Barn on Sunday from 2:30 pm to 4:45 pm to JAM and hang out. All instruments are provided - guitar, bass, full drum set, piano, amps, percussion instruments, mics, and more!! Please feel free to come in and express whatever musical talent you may have, or to share your ability to write poems or songs. All kinds of music are welcome, but the following rules apply:
- NO DRUGS
- NO ALCOHOL
- NO PROFANITY
Our hope is that the children and adults recognize that their gifts are God given, and they will praise Him with the ones they have been given. It is a safe haven for kids, and adults, who come to the jam; a clean environment to partake in - physically and spiritually.
Jr. & Sr. Youth Group This group meets on Sunday afternoons from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm. This provides the opportunity to have a meal and then worship God at our 7:00 pm service. This group is geared towards nurturing the kids' spiritual maturity. We address issues and struggles that are affecting young people as they live as Christ would want them to. Concerts and other fun events are on the agenda for this year! Stay tuned!!
